What is Difference between AMR and AGV?

Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) and Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) are both crucial technologies in modern warehouse automation. Even though both of them helps in moving goods around, but they still operate differently.

 

AGVs follows specified path by using tracks, magnets, or guided lines to navigate through the warehouse. AGV are specifically useful in warehouse where not many people or obstacle comes in their way. All this make them useful for repetitive tasks such as transporting materials between fixed points, but their flexibility is limited since they cannot easily adapt to changes in their environment.

 

In contrast, AMRs are equipped with advanced sensors which allows them to navigate dynamically and make real-time decisions.
